I went into RCDefault.app and changed all formally QuickTime video formats to VLC but when I visit a site that previously ran MPG or MPEG or any other format in the QuickTime plugin, they just download and run in the VLC program rather than use the plugin. Any ideas how to correct this?

Vlc Web Plugin

Here are a few more details:
I removed the QuickTime Plugin
I uninstalled the Quicktime Application
I'm running Safari 3
I have Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)Safari plugin download
As near as I can tell, I ran the VLC installation and plugin installation appropriately but this seems to a challenge since I do not know how Safari gets it's plugin information other than the Internet Plugins directory.
Thanks
